Why does it often seem that supervisors are only interested in spending money and making improvements in the unincorporated parts of the county? Do we not pay taxes in the cities of Waveland and Bay St Louis?
A case in point is the vote on building codes some years ago. Only the county residents were allowed to vote.
This was a direct violation of our rights. I pay the same millage as a county resident but get basically no services from the county government besides filing our deeds and collecting our taxes.
Supervisors should disclose how much county money is spent in each square mile of the county. I think we would then understand how little they put into the incorporated areas.

When you say that a person chose not to participate, how much effort was put into getting them to participate. I was told that he didn't know anything about this forum.

A complete list of candidates and contact info was obtained from the county after the qualifying date. We sent out the original letters of proposal by priority mail with delivery confirmation. We followed up with phone calls - in many cases, contacting candidates several times, offering help: We typed in responses and took photographs for some. We kept detailed records of each follow-up phone call made to candidates.
Please have the candidate in question contact Ellis Anderson (228.493.2107) and if they were indeed mistakenly overlooked, every effort will be made to rectify the situation immediately.

If they chose not to participate, maybe that is indicative of the level of service they will render to constituents.

Too bad the other guys chose not to respond! I am useing this forum as a large part of my decision-making process. I would have loved to see how Seymour responded to your well crafted questions.
Thank you for your effort. I hope lots of people visited this site.
